Jonathan and Desiree were looking for a small portable sailboat. They bought their Tiwal 3 at the Annapolis Sailboat Show in Maryland. They share their sailing experience in Florida.
We’re Jonathan Murray and my wife Desiree.
How long have you had your Tiwal 3?
We’ve bought our Tiwal 3 at the Annapolis Sailboat Show last year, so we’ve been owners for just over a year.
How is it going so far?
We love our Tiwal. It’s a really nice addition to our boating experience. We’re power boaters, so this is actually our first experience of real sailing.
We’re having a lot of fun so we take her out on the weekends and it’s really easy to pack, move around, put in the car and take it to the marina, launch her.
So we’ve had a great time. And we’re based in Florida so nice blue water to sail around, nice environment, it’s very pretty and we love going out. We love the quietness of the sail compared, you know, being out on our power boat. And just feeling the wind in your hair, and the sound of the water…
Yeah, it’s a great experience!
What is your best memory on your Tiwal 3?
My best memory is probably not the one you would remember, but we took her out… We’re not experienced sailors so you know enough about sailing. And we took her out one day and we tried to come back into our marina, and there is about a 3 knots tidal flow, and the wind died down, so we ended up tacking for about and hour to get about 20 meters, in order to get back to the marina! So that’s the best memory, but it was also a lot of fun. And we’re still out on the water!
