With the Tiwal 3R Max, performance is a matter of efficiency. The addition of a high-performance jib and gennaker transforms the sail plan, unlocking earlier planing and higher speeds across all points of sail. The North Sails jib significantly improves upwind pointing ability and optimizes airflow across the main. Off the wind, the gennaker opens up an entirely new performance range. Light air becomes an opportunity, while moderate breezes turn into full-throttle downwind runs. With increased sail area driving the hull, the Tiwal 3R Max gets up on the plane sooner and stays there longer. It behaves like a true racing skiff. The Tiwal 3R Max builds on the proven Tiwal 3R platform and introduces a purpose-engineered set of upgrades to support the new headsails.

Carbon fiber power mast: A new, reinforced mast designed to handle the increased loads of the headsails, without the need for shrouds, keeping the setup clean and simple.
Modular bowsprit system: A detachable jib boom is mounted directly onto the central frame, providing a rigid, reliable base for the foresail while keeping the structure simple and strong. A gennaker boom slides inside the jib boom, extending the rig forward for downwind sail area.
Integrated sail controls: The kit includes North Sails-designed headsails equipped with high-efficiency furling systems, halyards, and low-friction swivels.

Refined cockpit layout: Strategically placed cam cleats for the jib, and ratchet blocks for the gennaker, allow for precise, ergonomic control of both headsail sheets.

Transport

High performance, from car to water

True to the Tiwal philosophy, the Tiwal 3R Max maintains total independence from trailers and boatyards. The entire system, including the hull, frame, and new sail kits, packs down into three compact bags plus the sail. This modularity allows the boat to be transported in the trunk of a standard vehicle and stored in a small closet, offering a fun racing experience with zero logistical overhead. From a mountain lake to a hidden coastal cove, your performance skiff travels wherever you go.

Assembly

You can go from “packed” to “sailing” in just 30 minutes with the jib configuration. Fancy the gennaker too? It only takes 35 minutes to rig the whole kit. No tools, no stress, just a clever “click-and-play” system that gets you sailing while others are still untangling their trailers.

The sail plan of the Tiwal 3R Max is designed to deliver both power and control, whatever the conditions.

The mainsail is reefable, allowing you to easily adjust sail area as the wind builds. This becomes especially important with the addition of forward sails, which bring a significant boost in power. Maintaining the right balance between the mainsail and the headsails is key to keeping the boat efficient, stable, and fully under control, even when pushing harder in stronger winds.

The jib and gennaker are sized to enhance performance without compromising handling. They add speed and excitement while preserving the playful, accessible feel that defines the Tiwal experience.
