The boat
The Tiwal 2XL is the transportable family sailboat. It is designed to sail two adults and two children in comfort and safety. It fits into two bags and can be assembled in just 25 minutes. The Tiwal 2XL is a responsive, fun boat. The whole crew enjoys the sailing experience with its mainsail and jib. It’s the boat to share the pleasures of family sailing.
The hull
The Tiwal 2XL hull is fully inflatable with 3 watertight compartments, including a drop-stitch center compartment. The bow is scow-shaped for added buoyancy, and the fenders are inflatable for added stability and comfort. The deck is uncluttered to allow crew movement. All structural elements are held in place by clips, pins and velcro.
The sail
The Tiwal 2XL is rigged with a boomless mainsail and a furling jib. Both sails are designed and manufactured by North Sails. They are made of dacron. The mainsail can be reefed, with a maximum surface area of 8.2 m² (88 ft²). The 1.8 m² (19 ft²) jib is roller-furled for easy use. The mast is structurally reinforced and made of carbon to hold the rig.
